About Agrolink¶
Agrolink Vlaanderen is het uniek samenwerkingsplatform tussen 18 Vlaamse belangrijke kennisinstellingen. Agrolink Vlaanderen werd opgericht op 8 december 2014 en wil hét erkend contactpunt zijn voor de agro-industrie, de onderzoeksgemeenschap en het beleid in de land- en tuinbouw.
Leden zijn de Faculteit Bio-ingenieurswetenschappen van Universiteit Gent (UGent), de Faculteit Bio-ingenieurswetenschappen van KU Leuven, het Instituut voor Landbouw-, Visserij- en Voedingsonderzoek (ILVO), de Hogeschool Gent (HOGENT), het Koninklijk Belgisch Instituut tot Verbetering van de Biet (KBIVB), het Proefbedrijf Pluimveehouderij, het Praktijkpunt landbouw Vlaams-Brabant, de Hooibeekhoeve, het Proefcentrum Hoogstraten, Inagro, het Proefstation voor de Groenteteelt (PSKW), het Interprovinciaal Proefcentrum voor de Aardappelteelt (PCA), het Provinciaal Proefcentrum voor de Groenteteelt Oost-Vlaanderen (PCG), het Proefcentrum voor Sierteelt (PCS), het Proefcentrum Fruitteelt (pcfruit), het Vlaams Centrum voor Bewaring van Tuinbouwproducten (VCBT), het Proefcentrum Bijen (PC Bijen).- en VITO.
Agrolink Flanders is the unique collaboration platform between 18 Flemish knowledge institutions. Agrolink Flanders was founded on 8 December 2014 and aims to be the point of contact for the agribusiness, research community and policy in agriculture and horticulture.

About TURQUOISE¶
TURQUOISE is een interdisciplinair onderzoeksproject over het potentieel van blauwgroene strategieën voor klimaatadaptatie. Aanhoudende droogteperiodes tussen 2017 en 2021 hebben duidelijk gemaakt dat Vlaanderen onvoldoende voorbereid is op waterschaarste en droogte. Het project TURQUOISE mikt op een proactieve aanpak om de beschikbaarheid van water te vergroten.
Om blauwgroene oplossingen goed te plannen, uitvoeren en opschalen is meer kennis nodig over enerzijds de doeltreffendheid (of neveneffecten) van maatregelen zowel op lokale en grotere schaal en anderzijds hoeveel er nodig is om het droogterisico tot een aanvaardbaar niveau terug te brengen.
Concreet wil TURQUOISE een beslissingsondersteunend kader ontwikkelen en dit in de praktijk testen om de planning te vergemakkelijken en de uitvoeringsgraad van blauwgroene aanpassingsstrategieën te verhogen.

TURQUOISE is an interdisciplinary research project on the potential of blue-green strategies for climate adaptation. Persistent droughts between 2017 and 2021 have made it clear that Flanders is insufficiently prepared for water scarcity and drought. The TURQUOISE project aims at a proactive approach to increase water availability.
To properly plan, implement and scale up blue-green solutions, more knowledge is needed about the effectiveness (or side-effects) of measures both on a local and larger scale on the one hand, and how much is needed to reduce drought risk to an acceptable level on the other.
TURQUOISE wants to develop a decision-support framework and test it in practice to facilitate planning and increase the implementation rate of blue-green adaptation strategies.
